When a famous person comes and sits behind you in sacrament meeting, is it appropriate to ask for his signature? More importantly, do you think a signed church program would do well on e-bay?Maybe David Archuleta thought he could slip into sacrament meeting without anyone noticing his famousness. But, with the writers' strike and all, we are pretty familiar with the contestants on American Idol. And he did sit right behind us, and was thoroughly entertained by Lucas's antics. (Lucas was happy to have an audience.) After the meeting, he asked what our boys' names were. Maybe he will dedicate this week's song to those cute little blonde-headed boys that kept him awake during church on Sunday. We did name our baby after him.
And you all wonder why we moved to L.A.

awesome. When we lived in LA Napolean Dynamite was in our ward. :)
Wow! He is my favorite!
AUUGGGHH I LOVE David Archuleta, I think I would have just fallen over! I've been told I turn into a giddy 14-year-old when he's on the TV. Maybe I need to live in LA. : )
So did he sign your program?
Back to Red Fish, it is not too far from Boise, nestled in the Saw Tooth Mountain Range, very scenic in a non-ocean sort of way. It has a "lake" beach (not as cool as the ocean) and you can take a boat over to the other side with a great short hike to a lily pond lake. Again, very scenic.
I know we can't compete with your 10 year reunion, just keep it in mind. You can let us know whenever, we'll make it work.
We are thinking about a trip to sunny CA in october. Provided it isn't burning down. Ron is on sabatical fall semester and the kids have a 10 day potato harvest break (crazy) and we may be looking for a place to go. We will probably make San Diego our home base (what could be more fun than 8 children and 4 adults in Aaron's house?), but will get up to see you.
Ron is working on a name for our blog. He is thinking about "united nates of america." I told him to keep thinking.
Actually, Napolean Dynamite and his twin brother lived on my floor of Heleman Halls at BYU. In a box somewhere, I have a video that he and his brother put together, a "documentary" of our freshman year... I like to say that I was in some of his earlier work :)
Maria: I like the "united nates of america." Good blog name... But no, alas, he did not sign our program (I didn't ask). We did wish him good luck this week.
I watched Idol last night for the first time in awhile...the tinfoil on the antenna REALLY helps with reception. That David is cute, but what is he 12? I guess I can now see what all the fuss is about.
He does look like he's 12 on T.V. In real life he is pretty cute and shy. Last night his singing was amazing. I honestly haven't been watching as much as Jon so I didn't know how good he was until last nights performance.
If he's at church on Sunday I think I will get his autograph b/c I think he'll go far in life. I really have no where to put an autograph but at least I can say I did. right? hehe.
Maria - we'll keep you posted on Red Fish. That'll be fun to have you down here in October even if you'll be staying in San Diego. We'll have to get together.
Nancy- I can see why you'd become like a giddy 14 year old. He is a sweet kid. On Sunday he had on his American Idol white shirt and black tie.
Is this your first "star" sighting since moving to LA? Pretty cool it happened at church!
Tiny- I have seen other famous people but I don't know their names. Just recognize them so it's kind of lame. I can't even brag about it. I try to describe who they are but never can remember what movie their in. O'well.
We love him!! How fun to find out he is LDS. We watched him last night and he totally rocked the house. He should totally win for sure but either way someone will snap him up and he'll end up famous--poor soul. But wow, can he ever sing! Did you get his autograph?
NO WAY!!! He's such a cutie, I hope he wins:)
Although I'm a big fan of Michael (the Australian:)
my friend that goes to church in you building says she has seen in that building: 1) some guy from grey's anatomy; 2) last season's winner of dancing with the stars; 3) larry king's wife. have you seen any of them? she is VERY excited that she might get a glimpse of David Archuleta.
So far my "celebrity" church sightings (both in NYC) are limited to LaVell Edwards and Elizabeth Smart. Oh and the Moes, hehe.
p.s. i know where you can put your autograph: you can give it to ME! ;)
your* building
That is so awesome! He is all over the news in Utah. He is pretty dang good!
Hey Jon Heder (napoleon) is in my SIL ward, along with his twin, and a few other celebs. Also, Julianne Hough (dancing with the stars 2 time champ) is Jared Heaton's cousin. I try to get the low down on her whenever i talk to him.
