Tooth Fairy

Well, it finally happened. At the age of 3 the tooth fairy visited Micah. After Micah's aerobatic maneuver inside the hotel room at the firm retreat last week, his front tooth was knocked out.

It's hard not to give him the nickname Gappy, but I don't want to scar him for life.

The tooth came out in one piece. The table had an indention in it. The tooth fairy was nice to take the tooth and "pretend clean" it and then place it under my pillow so that I could show the dentist. This is how I now have the tooth (in case you're wondering).

Imagine him throwing a stuffed animal in the air, jumping to catch it, tripping, and landing tooth first on an end table. Tooth knocked out. Micah on the ground crying hysterically with blood in his mouth. After about 15 minutes to calm him down and to get his mouth to stop bleeding, we determined that no doctor could do anything about it so we decided to go to the firm's bowling party. Heck, we were in Las Vegas and staying at a nice resort on the firm's dime... And Lucas and Micah were really looking forward to bowling at the resort's bowling alley, so we went downstairs and bowled and had a good time.

Micah sporting his red ball. You can see him sticking his tongue out through the gap.

Nice form!

Lucas and Micah teaming up.

Don't worry the ball is only about 5 pounds!

After bowling Jon called his sister Linda to make sure we really did not need to see a doctor that night or weekend. She has 7 kids so we figured she'd know a thing or two. Thanks Linda for your help! We decided to take away his pacifier and bottle to make sure dry socket would not occur. After talking to the dentist on Tuesday she said that really wasn't necessary. We have not bothered to tell Micah this since he is doing pretty good without his comforts. He still has his dog and bear so at least he has those. I do have to say this week has been incredibly emotional for him. But, I think he's been in pain for most of it. We even offered him his bottle and he refused because he is scared it'll hurt. The poor little guy. At least he'll drink milk from a cup. When we took the bottle away from Lucas at age 2 he refused to drink milk for over a year. Thus the reason we did not take it away from Micah.

In about a month we take Micah back to the dentist and she'll fit him for a spacer so he'll get a fake tooth. Spacers are not necessarily required ,but it'll help with speech, appearance, and so his other teeth don't crowd together. I have already noticed a speech difference this week so I think it'll be a good for him.

Crazy! I saw that you posted and I got really excited thinking maybe Isaac would lose a tooth soon since Lucas had. I guess I was underestimating Micah.

So cute! He is totally your kid Deanna...although I don't remember calling you gappy or anything like that when you didn't have your front teeth.
How did you like the bowling alley at Red Rock? It is a huge bowling alley, but if you noticed, everything in Las Vegas is bigger than normal.
I am in Moses Hole this week working...I hope they have a Wal-Mart otherwise I have to drive to Othello to buy shampoo & conditioner. I guess I could shop at Kayann's house for those items....Grandma told me she has about 2 shelves worth of hair products :)
Give the boys hugs and kisses from me:)

I was wondering if that was the Red Rock bowling alley. Nice job! Poor Micah, that's got to hurt!
