Suburban San Diego

We went to visit one of Jon's brothers this past weekend. He lives in the suburbs of San Diego. We have been there twice and I have yet to actually visit or see downtown San Diego or do any tourist activities there. Maybe someday. I'm not too heartbroken about this since I know the day will come soon enough.

Jon's mom was visiting from Idaho so we went down to see her. It was a nice visit. Jon, Lucas and Micah along with Aaron and his two sons decided to camp in their backyard. All the kids were totally excited about this. Lucas felt like survivor man. Micah honestly had no idea what was going on but loved every minute of it. They had a little fire place out on the patio so we had smores. Probably Micah's favorite part. I slept inside with David in a nice comfortable bed. There was a hail storm in the middle of the night and Lucas got up to look out the tent to see. When he went back to bed he threw the sleeping bag over him but did not get back inside it. Micah woke-up after the hail storm screaming for me. Long story short Jon, Lucas and Micah came inside and slept. I don't blame them. It was cold outside. Poor little Lucas was ice cold. He didn't want to lie down in the bed because he kept telling me that he was too cold! I finally convinced him to lie down so I could put covers over him. They slept fine after that. The next thing I knew I woke-up to a 5 kids chasing and shooting each other with Nerf guns. They were screaming and squealing too. It was fun to hear them all laugh and play together. Our wonderful hosts cooked us a gourmet breakfast. It was delicious! And then it was time to go home. Lucas was very sad to leave his cousins. He told Jon when we got there "Dad, I love this house!" Can you tell he really wants to live in a house? That'll be the day...sigh.

Yay! We, too, spend a lot of time in suburban San Diego (Escondido) and almost no time in San Diego-proper.

But what I'm really glad about is that we're not the ONLY ones who don't have a house yet. :)

we have no house. i sometimes think we will never have a house. right now we're aspiring to a real apartment. like, one with a separate kitchen.

This looks like a wonderful trip with cousins and the "campout" is hilarious! Thanks for your comments on my blog about Beckham, it was so thoughtful of you to take the time to help. We have a bouncy seat and sometimes the vibrator is the only thing that helps him relax. He is getting better slowly, it's just taking time- thanks again, I really appreciated hearing from you.

Hail, schmail. If Jon wanted to be a REAL man, he could have come and camped in our backyard. We still have 2 feet of snow back there and it hasn't been above 30 (at night) since I don't know how long. I noticed that the ranch store down the street has received its annual crop of planting trees, but the ground is no way soft enough (I can't even see it) for tree planting.

So, San Diego sounds great. Must have been quite an experience with the whole clan there. Sounds like Mark and Shannon got the sweet end of that deal with the condo by the beach...

Red hair on the boy. C U T E !!

Sounds like the boys had a lot of fun! The pictures of grandma with David are cute. I can't believe Maria still has two feet of snow in her backyard. We are finally getting some spring weather. It's fantastic!
