With Pictures
and a few Words.
Our Neighborhood has
Hot Air Balloons landing outside our front door.
An almost 8 year old boy who lost his front 2 teeth.
A bird who decided to make her nest and lay eggs on the pathway to school.
She is very protective too. She'll squawk at you like crazy until you completely pass.
A big open field with lots of snake holes. Someday this will be a city park.
A beautiful school that is 1000 times better than the last.
SNAILS! SNAILS! SNAILS! (more about them under the picture)
No pictures but we also have:
Owls
geckos
beehives with hundreds of bees (thank goodness for the HOA and its men that come out and blast them)
$4.08 gas prices :(
Great neighbors
Great Teachers
I counted 10 kids in the alley this afternoon playing and that's not even half of them. We GOT kids Galore! And we love it.
Field Mice (D-CON -This is WAR - know who your enemy is) (thankfully they are not in the house.)
Mountain Lions (one was just found dead in a nearby canyon)
Obviously we live in the country now. When we go to the store we say "I'm going into town." OKAY, we really don't live in the country, but compared to NYC and LA we do. Oh, how life has changed. It is good. We are happy.

All those specks on the sidewalk are dead snails that people step on either by accident or by pure torture. Our boys kick them. I hate it, but they don't listen. One old man in the neighborhood walks down this sidewalk and will literally stomp on each one with such force and determination as if he has a point to make to the snail world. I think it's odd. (Kristina and Doug - do you remember Gary? I got lots of Garys now. hehehe)

Thank you thank you thank you for posting all of this and then letting me know about it. I loved it all and am so happy for you!
I love the pictures! Thanks. By the way, I have a cat due to have kittens any day . . . the mother is a good mouser . . . want a kitten :)
Looks like a wonderful neighborhood!! How great to have so many kids around! So fun you have a bit of wildlife, too. We're still adjusting to suburban life, as well. It annoys me I have to drive for milk....but I'm learning to deal. :)
Wow! I would love to live in your neighborhood! Enjoy. I grew up "going in to town" for everything. I loved it.
just catching up on my blog reading...the house looks great! Gracie is adorable. And it sounds like living in the country is fun for you all!
