We have been in our new home for one week. I have no pictures. But we are slowly unpacking. Mainly because Jon has been busy working long hours and I have been tending to kids throwing up. Oh, and plumbing problems in the house. But, it seems like the week is coming to an end and we survived. We got cable, internet, and phone today. Oh, how I have missed you! Thankfully, my little blackberry with internet has kept me somewhat up to date with my blogging friends. Oh, how I love technology!
On the fourth of August was our 8th year wedding anniversary. Sad to say we didn't do anything because Jon was working. This weekend our babysitter is out of town so next week we will celebrate the 8 glorious years of being madly in love.
We love our house. We love the fact that Jon is 5 minutes away from work. Although he worked like crazy this last week he was home to help me put the kids to bed 4 out of 5 nights. He'd come home for about an hour and then go back to work til 2 or 3 in the morning. Maybe this is how we will survive Big Law. He did have a closing this past week and I will report that he actually enjoyed it and received much training in the process. It is always nice when the husband is happy with work.
I had my monthly "girls night out" with my girlfriend posse last night. I always enjoy these nights with the ladies. Great laughs, chats, desserts, and a movie makes any night enjoyable and I will add bearable to living in this city of L.A. Not that I don't love L.A., but there are moments when all I want to do is scream and pull my hair out. Luckily, there are others who can sympathize and encourage me to keep going.
The kids are great. Lucas loves having a backyard that he can go play with the hose and water everything and anything in sight. David loves looking outside the windows and staring at the leaves and trees blowing in the wind. Micah is loving all of it especially doing everything that Lucas does. Today Micah and I went to the store and I bought Micah a gumball and he made me buy one for Lucas. He was so happy to bring it home and give it to Lucas. I thought this was so sweet that Micah thought of Lucas when he very easily could have got a gumball just for himself and not included Lucas. These small acts show me that my boys love each other and care for the other. I think they will miss each other when school starts in the fall. So many changes for us all. I guess that is what life is about. Changing and growing. Moving forward to new adventures and new challenges. Thankfully, we have each other to lean on.
